HERCULEAN formed back in October 2006, originally as a two piece...

Declan O'Kane and Stuart McInnes first met in May 2006, but it wasn't until that October that they would think up one of the most ambitious projects in years. HERCULEAN formed in a music class, named after the song by the band The Good, The Bad And The Queen which was released in the same month. Stuart and Declan wrote HERCULEANs first song 'Sky In Land' (which changed to 'Fallen Tower' soon afterwords) in the same class in which they formed, the song only contained voice, keyboard and drums but was still the start of something. For 4 or 5 months, they wrote and pacticed new songs but only two of the songs written in the class will make it to the album, but things didn't really start kicking off until summer 2007 when they desided to book a proper rehersal room. They desided to go to Headhunter Records near Declans house, back then. Their first visit was that July and by a couple of weeks later, they had much more songs including 'Headhunter' which is set to be one of the singles off the album. It wasn't until that September that the band realized they needed a bass player, there were 4 possible bassists, but they chose Stephen McQuire, who Stuart had known for 3 years. The band had their first rehersal as a three piece that month and went on writing and rehersing, recording demos in October. In December 2007, it was announced that Stephen had the band due to musical differences. Prior to Stephen leaving, Rhys Martin joined the band. As of April 2008, HERCULEAN are currently recording new material for a release later this year. In July 2008 Herculean recruited guitarist Steven Gerry as a fourth member of the band.
