20/5/08 - Rehersal & Recording session II
We had a rehersal session today, just 2 hours, but we practiced 5 new songs (written over the weekend) - which means a good day for rehersing. Also tonight, we set up the studio in Declan's loft again and got 4 of the 5 new songs recorded (in about 70 minutes). We could of recorded all the new ones, but the equipment we use only holds about 4 full songs at a time. You may be wondering when we're going to update the myspace music - it won't be long - as soon as vocals and back-up guitars are finished on new track 'Wanted To See You', it'll be up there. Until then, we'll keep battling with the album that'll shape HERCULEAN. Revolver...
8/3/08 - Recording
Last night, we set up our own little recording studio in Declan's loft. The session was a good turn out though - for 2 hours. We got 4 songs recorded (for all 4 titles [CLICK HERE]). We're rehersing tomorrow, so we'll likely have more titles to tell about soon. In the mean time though, keep an eye on the myspace, not only will new song 'RUN' appear on Tuesday, but (for a limited time only) 'RUN - Acoustic Version)' will be up on the page aswell. More updates soon.
6/3/08 - Reminder of coming songs
Just a reminder to tell you that RUN will be put up on our myspace page next week. The song isn't really a demo, but it's been cut from the EP, so we'll be putting it on the net. Keep an eye on the site though, over the next month or two, there's much more tracks to come...
26/2/08 - Progress
Recording started in the middle of February, so far 7 demos have been recorded, but there's still alot to do. The plan is to demo another 5 or 6, before recording the actual EP itself. The latest one to have been demoed is a really experimental instrumental called 'London 1968' (which was mixed today) there's also an alternative version. In the mean time, THE VIOLET SUN (demo) has been put up on the myspace page, more updates soon...
17/2/08 - Demos
Since the band began, nearly 100 songs have been written and we've just started working on the demos, there's alot of work to do, but along the way, they'll be free downloads on our myspace page, (CLICK HERE TO VIEW) and new lyrics to the demos. THE VIOLET SUN will be the first demo to appear, which was written and recorded at the start of the month. What was to be the first single RUN ended up becoming another track on the EP, but now it will be a myspace only release, which will also be avalible to dowload (via the myspace page). You might of seen some clues around the site as to what or when the new EP will be out, if you haven't, then keep your eyes peeled. More details to follow.
13/12/07 - New single, myspace page
We've just finished the new single, 'RUN' and we're now working on the design, 'MOSCOW' will be the b-side, even though it's only a demo, we've put it up on our myspace page, which we made the other day. 'RUN' will be added to myspace soon and possibly, later today more details of the single + two new pages of the website will appear. The new music is expansive more than anything, and there's a few songs that you would'nt expect from an 'Indie' band, watch this space.
6/12/07 - Departures
Stephen has left the band due to musical differences, the first performance is 2 weeks tonight, and there's no bassist. We're still going through with the gig and the EP though, the only difference being without Stephen. We rehersed some new songs tonight, ones that might be on the EP. Within the next week a new page will appear on the site, so will a new song from the October sessions, the songs called 'MOSCOW' and will NOT be on the EP, it's only a demo mind, but it's the beginning.
1/12/07 - First performance, Single now an EP
We've got our fist performance at Knightswood Secondry School in Glasgow, we're only performing one song, it might be a new one called 'ALL YOU WANT TO BE', or it might not, it's 20 days until the show and we've not even rehersed the song once. New songs being written every day, and we've got so many that we don't know where to start, recording takes forever and mixing is even longer (it is for us anyway). It would be good to let fans hear the new songs, the release new recordings has now been aimed for February. There will be 5 or 6 song on the EP and so there's still 3 songs to record and alot of rehersing to do.
29/10/07 - Recording sessions and possible new single
In early October we started recording, but we could'nt make out any of the vocals and the drums were too loud. We decided to use a different studio, so we set up our own (In Declan's loft). We ended up not properly starting the record until Saturday (27th) but the new songs are sounding great, especially now we've mixed them. We're hoping the recording will be done by next weekend, so we can make the CD and send it into BOX. We may even possibly release a new single soon, if the rest of the recording goes well, there should be at least 3 songs on the CD.
27/9/07 - Recording demos, album and planning gig.
We've been trying to find a place to do a gig. We've found a place in town (Glasgow) called THE BOX which is a free entry for bands and fans. We haven't quite desided when to play, but we were thinking of next April which should give us time to do some demos, start the album then do some promotion for the gig. We've only had two rehersals as a three piece, but we already have some new songs, and one of the new songs we're hoping to demo in early October (called Deserter). We don't know if there will be a proper release for the demo because it's purposley getting made to send to the people at BOX. Hoping to make a new demo in early October then album in mid October, we'll keep you up to date with all the latest.
